Our Mission & VisionStand Out Circle is a community where mentors help graduates get the job they deserve. We believe in the importance of developing trust, growing influence and showcasing thought leadership as a young adult in the digital era. Our website is full of useful information about graduate careers, and emphasises the importance of personal branding and online networking techniques. Our goal is to educate and help graduates in their quest towards personal and professional success.
Our PurposeTen years ago, the first question parents asked while on a college or university campus tour was: “Will my child be safe?” Nowadays, their primary concern is: “Will my child get a good job after they attend?”. Colleges and universities address these fears through marketing tactics and investment into brand new career centers or partnerships with renowned corporations. But is this really the solution to turn around the problem of unemployment among young graduates? The answer is no. The truth is, if graduates struggle to find their dream job, the foremost reason is that colleges cannot provide them with the new skills employers are looking for in the digital world. The second problem is that even if students acquire the “right” skills (through internships or self-education), they often fall short selling themselves to recruiters - which means that they lose out to the ever growing competition within the job search market. Potential solutions can (and must) be found in two main areas. The first one is education itself; it demands reform in order to facilitate the learning of skills that are truly in demand. The second area of focus (which we explore throughout our blog posts) is the relatively new discipline of personal branding, which can work with the more established discipline of professional networking to offer new solutions to the issue at hand.
Our WorkThe main focus of our work is to determine what the potential power of these two disciplines (personal branding and professional networking) can be when it comes to the graduate job search in the digital world. We also want to establish the true potential benefits of these disciplines in terms of employability. And finally we ask the question: how can we actually implement these disciplines to teach graduates to develop trust, build influence and showcase thought leadership at a young age in the digital era?
Our BlogIn order to address these questions, we curate a blog that is divided into five categories: - Analyses of the job search market and of recruiters' behaviour. - The best personal branding and online networking strategies that graduates can implement to get the job they deserve. - Results and analyses of specific experiments and surveys illustrating the direct effects of personal branding and networking on graduate job searches. - Information about our innovative 9-step model, which gives full guidance on what graduates should do in order to quickly build a strong online presence and leverage their new personal brand and professional network. - Finally, our guest posts, written by high-calibre experts from the young career management sphere.
We hope you find our website an informative and engaging read, and that our work will help you to achieve your personal and professional goals. Best regards from the team.
